Follow all guidelines and create a safe environment for other coaches, players, referees and spectators.
Ensure procedures are communicated and remain in place for all participants:
No signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days and you have not been exposed to someone who has been ill in 14 days.
Check for normal temperature before going to practice (temperature 100.4 or higher please stay home).
Upon arrival to practice, coaches should ask each athlete if they are experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If the athlete has any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 they should be sent home and instructed to contact their healthcare provider. They will not be allowed to return to training until they are cleared by a healthcare provider. A doctor’s note must be provided.
Identify a Safety Coordinator for team to take accurate attendance at all lacrosse events and activities and serve as liaison for Safety Officer and Board of Health should a positive case or close contact case be identified.
Start and end practices on time.
Communicate clearly and regularly with families. Set expectations for practice and games including:
Wear face covering at all times and maintain social distance of 6 feet from others.
Encourage good sportsmanship without physical contact between players, coaches or opponents including handshakes and fist/elbow bumps.
Encourage good hygiene and washing/disinfecting hands before practice. Disinfect equipment and wash clothing after use.
Encourage frequent mask breaks physically distanced from teammates.
Inquire at the beginning of every practice and game how athletes are feeling, send them home if they act, report or look ill. Know list of CDC signs/symptoms.
Maintain 15 feet apart from other teams while sharing playing surface or field.
Be the only person to handle cones, ball bag, ball bucket, team bag, goals, etc.
Understand Founders Girls Lacrosse League rules.
Comply with applicable travel restrictions, quarantine or testing requirements.
Before games, communicate with opposing team coach regarding COVID-related safety guidelines including warm-up space, wearing masks and trash disposal.
Ensure players do not share water bottles, snacks, personal belongings, equipment or pinnies.
Disinfect and sanitize team and goalie equipment after every use.
Bring extra masks and sanitizing products in team bag to all activities.
Ensure players’ personal belongings (bags, coats, sweatshirts) remain in their personal space and are kept physically distanced from other’s belongings.
Leave nothing behind on the field; ask team to dispose of all personal trash.
